Expanding into South Asia, Empowering Water Services with Smart Technology
From September 9 to 11, 2026, IFAT India 2026, the India International Environmental Technology Exhibition, successfully concluded at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai, India. During the exhibition, Panda Group presented its core products — smart ultrasonic water meters and integrated smart water solutions. The company demonstrated the intelligent manufacturing strength of China’s smart water industry to Indian municipal water authorities, EPC contractors and channel partners.
As a highly influential professional trade show for water, wastewater treatment and resource recovery in India and even the entire South Asia, IFAT India brings together global water equipment manufacturers and industrial buyers. It focuses on industry hot topics including water network leakage control, urban and rural water supply upgrading, and sustainable water resource utilization. India is undergoing rapid urbanization, with growing demand for the renovation of aging water supply pipelines and replacement of smart metering devices. Smart water meters featuring high stability, low maintenance cost and compatibility with complex water quality have become a market necessity.
At this exhibition, Shanghai Panda Group prominently showcased its Small Panda series residential ultrasonic water meters. Featuring a full 304 stainless steel meter body and IP68 ingress protection rating, the products are fully adaptable to South Asia’s harsh on-site conditions, including high temperatures, fluctuating water quality, humid environments and heavy dust.
Supporting a turndown ratio of up to R400, Panda’s residential ultrasonic water meters deliver ultra-low starting flow and precise detection of micro water consumption, effectively reducing water supply non-revenue water (NRW) and pipeline loss. Equipped with built-in multi-mode wireless communication modules including LoRaWAN, NB-IoT and 4G, the meters support remote meter reading, remote valve control, and automatic equipment fault diagnosis and alarm.
Paired with Panda’s self-developed smart water management platform, the integrated solution realizes visualized pipeline data monitoring and remote operation and maintenance, providing South Asian water utilities with a complete one-stop package of hardware plus software.
Successful exhibition closing, continuous in-depth market cultivation.
After the IFAT India exhibition, the Panda team paid on-site visits to local clients’ manufacturing factories. By conducting in-depth field inspections of production workshops, the team gained a clear understanding of clients’ production processes, supporting supply chain capabilities and on-site assembly conditions for water projects. Both sides exchanged in-depth views on localized product optimization, bulk delivery cycles, joint market promotion, development of potential new projects, as well as OEM and ODM cooperation possibilities. Meanwhile, the two parties confirmed the follow-up technical docking plan, jointly exploring massive market opportunities in the digital transformation of urban and rural water supply systems across India.
Exhibitions serve as a vital window for brand presentation and opportunity exploration, while in-depth field visits to existing clients are key to consolidating mutual trust and delivering long-term market value.
The combined efforts of exhibition participation and offline client visits have further consolidated Shanghai Panda Group’s customer foundation in the South Asian market. Moving forward, Panda Group will continue to deepen strategic cooperation with local partners, iteratively upgrade water treatment products tailored to South Asian working conditions, and empower the digital upgrading of local water supply infrastructure with reliable Chinese smart water solutions.
